Improvisational Theatre Workshops

Tony Marando is coaching Improvisation Theatre Workshops as Life Tools for 7 – 12 and 13 – 18 yr. olds, based on the Viola Spolin Improvisational Techniques for the Theatre using myths, fairytales, and legends. He’ll be coaching these young performers in breathing, posture, projection, stage presence, some Commedia dell’ Atre’ and improvisation, which will be translated into classic hero and heroine movement and fantasy projection. The six week, two hour sessions are designed for young actors who want to work in a non-ego, non-aggressive, non-clique, open environment.

Saturdays, first sessions at 10:00 am - 11:30; second sessions 12:00 - 1:30.
Contact tony@

Merrimans' Playhouse - Meetng Hall

Recital Hall

Merrimans' Playhouse is available for Recitals. The space is intimate with good acoustics. It's a great space to hear all the dynamic ranges of the instruments, and musicians. We want to nuture the budding and established musicians in our community and would love to host student recitals, and chamber groups, or other small ensembles.

If you are a school or private music instructor, looking for an alternate performance space for your students, please come and visit our space. Also, we'd like to encourage the instructors to have a recital themselves, so they have the opportunity to perform, and the students have an opportunity to really hear what their instructors are up to. This space is for the community, so we have a place to nurture and share our talents.

Please call 574-329-3430 or email merrimuse@sbcglobal.net for rental fees.

Conference Hall and Film Screening

Merrimans' Playhouse is also a great space for brainstorming, meetings, and conferences. A break from the usual setting. We have a "screen" wall for presentations and video. You will need to provide your own projector.

We are also collaborating with local filmmakers for film screenings. We will post more information as things develop.

Contact us if you have some ideas for events you'd like to consider.
